Orange Bedding – Deals and Wall Colors

Orange bedding is one of the last colors of bedding we’re doing on our site, as it is just not a very popular color. Looking at Macy’s web site, there are 9 bedding sets when you filter by orange, and many of them are debatable. Largely, the sets you find are just accent pillows in orange, or maybe a trace of the color on the set itself.

What makes orange an unpopular color? It’s unfortunate, but orange is a warm color that seems limited in its options. Most other colors have a wide palette where you can use various shades, mixing brights and darks together in great ways. Orange is limited in that fashion. Bright orange doesn’t really mix well with much except maybe brown, and darker orange often would have been better if it simply was brown.

That being said, there are a few bedding sets that use orange effectively and we want to shed light on those. The first such set is the Atlas Collection from Calvin Klein. This orange bedding set is a mix of blue and orange diamonds that play well together in their subdued design. Another popular option is Natori bedding’s Snow Lion Collection. A combination of a red comforter with an orange accent makes this set look almost Arabian in its design. We found a poster on a forum with a beautiful looking orange bedding set but unfortunately, can’t find out what it is, so we’ve included the picture to at least whet your appetite.

One of the better looking designs, but we don't know who made it!

If you do go with an orange bedroom set, you’re likely looking for the perfect wall colors. In most cases, you’ll want a nice neutral color that won’t clash with the orange. We recommend a light brown or beige that would give your room a nice fall mesh. Another option is a grey which is becoming more popular and would give the room a more trendy feel. If you do go with grey, it could be interesting if you do a greyish blue that really plays with the orange well.

Overall, orange bedding is unfortunately a difficult choice on the market today. While I’m not myself opposed to it, few of the major designers have really put out a great set in the color. Have you seen any nice sets? Which would you recommend for a fan of the color, and of course, what color would you paint your walls?
