Where have all the Lego Bedding sets gone?
When it comes to children’s toys, one that has truly transcended time is Legos. These toys appeal to childrens desire for exploration, letting children take pieces apart and put them together in hundreds of different ways, creating unique works along the way. With this feeling of exploration, it’s no wonder that these toys have been popular for such a long time. Since kids love having their interests portrayed in their bedroom, with posters and set pieces, why not also have a Lego bedding set?

Since its foundation in Denmark in 1949, Legos have spread into almost every market. They are sold worldwide, with a tremendous pull on nearly every international market. What is more, they are no longer just a set of construction pieces, as the LEGO brand is represented in just about everything. There are tons of LEGO video games, theme parks, childrens clothes, board games, movies and books all based on the LEGO branding. LEGOs offer a cool experience and so, it’s easy to see why kids are eating up in nearly way.
Despite LEGOs advances in almost every marketplace, there is still a tremendous lack of LEGO bedding. Seriously, go to Toys R’ Us, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, or any store that might sell childrens bedding sets. You will find tons of cool outer space bedding, barbie bedding, sports bedding, but LEGO bedding? Nope. These sets don’t seem to be retailed anywhere, and so, we receive constant requests from parents who are interested in tracking down one of these sets and purchasing it for their home.
It’s a bit surprising even just a licensing deal hasn’t happened as there are tons of cool designs that LEGO can go with. They can feature a lego character on the bed, or even combine the LEGOs with another theme like Harry Potter bedding and feature Harry Potter as a lego piece. Or the bedding could just look like a collection of lego pieces, so it would give the illusion that it was built from LEGO pieces. I’m not a marketing manager or a product designer, but I had no trouble thinking of these ideas. So where is LEGO on the issue?
Finally, we are starting to see at least some movement in this area, as we have discovered one LEGO bedding set. Available on Amazon by Dan River bedding (a company that pretty much specializes in kids sets), it is a very basic design, but at least it is something. It is hard to tell what it will really look like based upon the picture as it is very static looking, but it’s very cheap at 30 dollars so it’s not that much of a risk. It’s unfortunately got no reviews at this point but I think it’s still pretty new as I hadn’t seen it prior to today.

I agree there would be a market for Lego bedding. I started seeing Lego pajamas recently. Legos are definitely as popular as something like Bob the Builder or Handy Manny. Not to take away from those characters but Lego spans a larger age range too.
